Recently, I heard someone say that people only drink coffee because it’s trendy now. While I will agree that the coffee culture has become incredibly massive, I will forever have many reasons to drink coffee and status isn’t one of them.

I’ve seen Starbucks cups used as accessories on Pinterest when I’m looking at outfits, and I’ve seen my fair share of coffee pictures on social media. The majority of the mom bloggers I follow on Twitter mention coffee in their bio, but I just like to think they are my sleepy sisters who love coffee as much as me.

I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 16. It picked me up when I was exhausted while working part time jobs in high school. It helped me stay up late and study in college. It gets me through my toddler filled days now. I even have a coffee themed kitchen. When we were looking to buy this house, I felt like it was a sign that the kitchen curtains had coffee beans on them during the tour. Even the backsplash is done in coffee colors. I’m not necessarily obsessed. I consider myself enthusiastic.

I want to talk about why I drink this magical substance, and then, I want to share super cute coffee Christmas gift ideas.

Reasons I Drink Coffee

  • That first sip of hot coffee warms my entire body and thaws my cold, tired heart.
  • Iced coffee is refreshing and gives me an instant boost of energy.
  • It’s a drink I don’t have to share with my children.
  • There are so many varieties, so options are always growing.
  • It’s freaking delicious.
  • You can put alcohol in it.
  • You can make desserts and yummy foods with it.
  • You can get beauty and skin products that have coffee as an ingredient.
  • It smells fabulous.
  • You can bond over it.
  • It helps you stay awake and focused when you’re exhausted.
  • You can give coffee related gifts.

  1. Um I love coffee! I don’t know if I agree with the whole people like coffee because it’s trendy. I think it’s trendy because everyone loves it. I do think the coffee culture is huge. Just like you were saying, a Starbucks cup is now just another accessory. I used to feel embarrassed leaving the house in leggings and uggs and shopping with a coffee in hand because the hate it got, now I embrace it because COFFEE. It warms my soul and is comforting and reminds me of stealing sips from mom as a kid. I love that first shirt btw! I have a shirt that says “coffee please,” and it got a few compliments. Fun and different post!

    Cheers xx

    1. Thanks so much! Yeah, I was frustrated when I heard that “millennials only drink coffee because it’s trendy.” I’m not a fan of generalizations and stereotypes. The age range of 19-34 need coffee! Hell, the world needs coffee! It’s the yin to my yang. I love it. 😊
