I want to start by saying that I was very against anything even remotely related to marijuana growing up. I heard stories of how it could help cancer patients and stop seizures, but all I could focus on were the people around me who were consumed by it.
It took a shift in my life for me to be open minded. I didn’t want to accept any scientific backing for cannabis, because of the stigma that surrounds it. I could only look at it like a drug. I’m a little disappointed in myself for being so stubborn for so long. I brushed off facts. Once I saw the capabilities first hand, my views changed. There’s more to cannabis than I realized. There are multiple components, and that’s what I overlooked for years.
Now, I’m a big supporter and hoping for continued research and legalization to help break the stigmas in the US. This post isn’t a debate, and if you plan to argue or sway my opinion, you may want to click away.
My mind won’t change, because I know people who’ve struggled with pain, blindness, seizure disorders, and the worst of the worst. Many of those have tried CBD or have use of medical marijuana, and I’ve seen their lives improve. I’ve seen their pain disappear. Just from my own use of CBD, I’ve been able to play with my babies without tears rolling down my face from eye pain.
This past summer is when I tried CBD. I kept seeing it pop up in stores, and I saw a lot of posts and research. It was quickly gaining popularity, and I decided I needed to try it. I knew the basic benefits of marijuana for medical purposes, but I was starting to learn more.
Once I did some digging, I realized that CBD could do so much for me. It has become legal in some states, and it seems fairly wide spread, especially where I live. If it’s legal where you live, you can probably find CBD gummies, vape oils, and tinctures. Rather than ramble, I want to talk facts first.
What You Need to Know
Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a product that’s derived from cannabis. It’s a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in marijuana plants. Even though it comes from marijuana plants, CBD doesn’t create a “high” effect or any form of intoxication — that’s caused by another cannabinoid, known as THC. There’s controversy around products like CBD oil because of recreational marijuana use, but thankfully, there’s growing awareness about the health benefits of CBD oil.
I do recommend talking to a doctor, because they tend to know what’s good for your body. I’m pretty open with my doctors, so as soon as I got the okay to try CBD, I was on it! The benefits didn’t take long to persuade me to give it a go, and I haven’t been disappointed. It’s helped me tremendously in many ways.
Some Health Benefits of CBD
- Anxiety Relief: In a nutshell, it can decrease anxiety by reducing stress, decreasing physiological effects of anxiety, such as an increased heart rate
improving symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and inducing sleep in cases of insomnia.
- Pain Relief: It helps manage pain from a large list of disorders, diseases, and other chronic pain related issues like arthritis, MS pain, and general muscle pain.
- Inflammation Relief: CBD is known as an anti-inflammatory, and that gives it diversity when it comes to uses. The anti-inflammatory properties can help everything from acne to the pain in my eyes from the swelling due to high pressure.
- Lowers Risk of Diabetes: As mentioned before, I’m not a doctor, but in all of my research, I’ve seen that use of CBD can help lower the risk of diabetes. It’s an epidemic in the US, and if they can find something safe to help decrease the odds, then, I’m all for it.
Fighting cancer cell growth and anti-seizure properties are also thought to be benefits of CBD. The research stages are early, from what I’ve read, but I’m hoping that the continued support and research help a lot of people in need.
I know there’s a much bigger list with more benefits, but I’m not a doctor or scientist. I don’t want to turn this into a medical post, but I do think you should do some research too. It appears to be truly amazing, and I hope that it becomes legal all over so more people can benefit from it.
Not only have I had issues with depression, anxiety, and insomnia, I suffer from an eye disease that causes me to have headaches, high eye pressure, and all-over eye pain almost daily. Finding relief hasn’t been easy, but I have even had some of my eye doctors recommend CBD. They were right. When I use CBD, my eyes feel better within the hour. It genuinely helps my anxiety and insomnia too.
Where I Started
When I first tried CBD, I bought a pack of gummies. They were pretty good. From there, I tried the drops that come in tinctures. I eventually bought a vape and oil to try that way. Honestly, I like all of the forms I’ve tried, but I use the drops and vape the most.
I was also recently sent a sample of oil made by Salve Herbal. They are a lovely company, and their oil really tempered my headaches and nerves. They are extremely friendly and honest. Also, they even told me that their oils may not taste the best, but they work.I didn’t find too much of an issue with taste. To be honest, it tastes kind of like chewing tea leaves- it’s a bit bitter but not awful. Bad taste or not, they helped me on rough days.
Salve Herbal’s high strength CBD Hemp oil is manufactured from cannabinoid active strains of the plant. This is in contrast to most hemp oil made from extracting oils from industrial hemp instead of CBD active plants. Our plants are grown in Europe and the extraction process takes place in Poland. The CO2 extracted CBD active, full spectrum oil is then mixed with cleaned Hemp oil to deliver a strong active product. Our oils, with 2-3 drops a day assist in the relief of stress, pain, migraines and also combat insomnia. We consider our product to be the highest quality product available.
I would definitely recommend talking to a doctor and trying CBD if it could benefit you. Head over to Salve Herbal and check out their products too. It’s definitely something I will continue to use.
