Taking That Break

Image description: The picture has a green border meeting a white border in the middle. There is a picture of a computer, white flowers, and a hand holding coffee under the center title, which says “Taking That Break.” The top tagline says, “Time to Breathe,” and the bottom is the URL for Housewife Hustle.

So, I’ve talked about breaks and self care a lot lately, so as much as I’m on the fence about everything, it’s time to take my own advice. I’ve really been struggling lately.

I let the numbers get to me, but it’s more than a numbers game. I’ve been open about some personal dilemmas and gave insights where I usually stay quiet. My numbers went down, but I’ve stayed positive for the most part. I think I’m just a bit burnt out trying to evolve as a blogger. I want to keep soaring, but right now, I need that break.

Evolving and growing a blog isn’t just dropping links. It’s about engaging with likes and comments. It’s about building connections with others. I’m all about bloggers supporting bloggers, but for a few days, I need to support myself and my mental health.

My weekend is going to be pretty busy with my grandpa’s birthday Saturday, my dad’s birthday Sunday, and our daughter’s birthday on Monday. I think I need to take a weekend or maybe even a week off.

I love the blogging community, and I love the friends I’ve made from social media. I just need to pull back for a few days and enjoy what’s going on in front of me with all of my focus. I’m a great multitasker, but I need to hit refresh.

I won’t be doing my Monday series, since we are going to celebrate our little girl. I’m not always the best at writing in advance. I usually have one or two posts written out and ready to be edited the day I want to post them, but I think a break will be just what I need.

I have so many goals, but I can’t make them a reality if I’m tired and always on the edge. My patience hasn’t been the best, so I need to regroup and get my smile back.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I will leave you with some of my favorite posts I’ve done lately, recent posts I love from other bloggers, and some feel good quotes.

    1. Love this post and so grateful for your tag!! I love your blog so much and honestly needed to read this one today. People don’t realize what all it takes to blog if you’re trying to grow an audience. And because we have smart phones, if we’re not careful, it can be CONSTANT. And I haven’t been careful lately. So I’m feeling off-balance. This post came at such a perfect time. I’ll have to follow your lead and take a break, I think. ❤️

      1. That means a lot! I hope you don’t get too burnt out or overwhelmed. Take some rest, and then, get back at it. You’re a wonderful blogger. 🥰😊

    2. You shouldn’t feel bad about taking a break when you need it. Relax and enjoy the weekend. This will be here when you return.

    3. Don’t feel bad for taking a break ! Blogging can be overwhelming sometimes ♥️ take care of you !

    4. Aw girl – I’m so sorry that blogging is stressing you out but I 100% support the need to take breaks when needed.

I’m coming off a 1.5 week break very slowly… roughly 2 week break on IG/Pinterest. I feel like I’ve been ghost posting since everything that has gone up recently has been pre-scheduled. But my stats across everything are totally down this month too, but it’s okay. Breaks are important for our mental health, which should always come before anything else. ❤️

Also, thank you so much for the feature in this post! Always appreciate your support.

      1. You’re always going to be a blogger I reference and support, because your voice and blog are really well put together and also relatable at the same time.

This break is going to be hard, but I need it. I told myself I will only check comments. I may Pinterest a bit, but that’s more for me than my blog. I just need to breathe. Thanks again for your support!

    5. I absolutely love this post! I took an unintentional hiatus, because life got crazy and I also needed to take care of myself. And that is okay. You come first. You can’t connect with people if you feel drained. We will all be here when you get back! Sending you so much love! <3
