The Blogger Recognition Award

What is the Blogger Recognition Award?

This specific award is for recognizing the hard work that we put into our blogs, whether it’s our hobby, job, or both. Blogging is work, and awards like this one are meant to showcase and recognize that work.

I love doing these awards, because I’m an avid lover of bloggers supporting each other. This is my second time being nominated, but it means just as much as the first time around. Let’s get to it!

Guidelines

1.Thank the blogger(s) for nominating you and give the link to their blog.
2.Write a post on your site displaying the award that describes why you started your blog.
3.Write 2 pieces of advice you have for new bloggers.
4.Nominate up to 15 other bloggers that you admire and appreciate.

Thank You!

The blogger who nominated me is Chocoviv. She’s been incredibly supportive of other bloggers, and she’s a fabulous writer and blogger herself. I’m very proud to have her in the blogging community.

Housewife Hustle’s Origin

I actually started Housewife Hustle in August of 2017 as a free WordPress site. I actually didn’t even work on building the site or posting until months later. I knew what I wanted it all to look like in my head, and I knew I couldn’t give up writing, even though I had other blogs in the past that didn’t last.

I was a bit discouraged from my previous attempts, but not all of my blogs were busts. I just didn’t love them, and I wasn’t writing for me.

I had health issues and what felt like one surgery after another. Between removing tumors and scar tissue, my reproductive organs and stomach were in constant pain. When I was told I needed a hysterectomy, a fire was lit under me.

I started blogging again.

I started not only writing more but also sharing on social media. From there, Housewife Hustle started getting readers. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m loving every second of it.

Tips for New Bloggers

I used to never blog about blogging, but then, I started getting questions and comments. I realized that even though I love my mom and lifestyle blog, I wanted to add in my blogging tips. On this journey, I’m still learning, and I love to share my advice as well as get advice from others.

1. First and foremost, be authentic. It’s okay to be inspired by others but don’t imitate them. I even did an entire chunk called “take inspiration not identity” in my recent self-love book. Make sure you have your own voice and style.

It’s never a good look to copy someone. I understand the pressure we put on ourselves as bloggers, but that’s not a good way to succeed. Just remember to be yourself, and if you love what you’re doing, it’ll flow.

2. Don’t fear promotion. I used to get so nervous about promoting my blog on socials. I was afraid of judgment and rejection, but all of those feelings held my blog and myself back. Chase your dreams. Believe in your blog, and promote yourself.

Nominations

Sometimes, people get nominated a few times. It’s hard to keep tract of who all has been nominated, but I genuinely feel inspired by the bloggers I nominate for awards.

  1. That’s so sweet of you! Thank you!

Your second tip is definitely one I need to take to heart. I’ve always been terrible about announcing my presence anywhere, so promoting my blog scares me silly. But you’re right. It keeps dreams from being reached.

    • I tried checking out your blog, but it says host name can’t be found.

When it comes to blogging you really have to love it for yourself first and foremost. It took months for someone to enjoy my blog that wasn’t me.

  3. Thanks for tagging me Jenni! I loved reading about how you started and I love where your blog is headed, your IG feed is so positive and always reminds us all that we are all beautiful in our own ways! I really like your tips too. So important to be authentic and not be swayed by popular trends nowadays. I really have to work with promoting my posts! I usually only promote it once when it’s out and then I’m done… I know I really should be doing more lol! Thank you for sharing this! ❤
