Moms Meet Product Review: Medterra CBD
As a member of MomsMeet, I was gifted with the products featured in this post. All opinions are honest and my own. This post may contain promotional codes and affiliate links.
The use of CBD is not only something I completely support, but I also have a decent amount of experience with a range of brands. I’ve posted about it most recently here.
CBD helps a laundry list of things for me. It helps the eye pain and headaches from my eye disease. It helps with my anxiety and OCD. It also helps with my eating disorder recovery, because I notice a significant change in my attitude towards my body when I use it regularly. I hate to use this wording, but CBD helps me feel “normal.”
Medterra’s industrial hemp is grown and extracted in accordance within the guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. All products are third-party tested to ensure consistency and quality. I was super excited to try Medterra, because I’ve heard positive things about what they offer. Trying and reviewing products is something I genuinely love to do, but I will say that when I received my sample box, I was a bit disappointed.
When trying something like CBD, it’s not easy to gauge in a one time use scenario. I was very pleased to be sent a full size oil tincture that was 1000mg for everyday use, but the other sample amounts didn’t prove to be the same caliber.
Now, I feel greedy saying this, but I find it challenging to accurately praise or dislike a product based on one small sample or serving of CBD. The sampling kit included the lovely Medterra 1000 mg CBD Oil Tincture, as well as a single serving of CBD Good Morning, a single serving of CBD Melatonin, and a mini toilette sized pack of CBD Rapid Cooling Cream.
What I Loved
The oil tincture is completely fabulous and helps all of the issues I use CBD for in the first place. It compares very well to other top end brands. I usually use 750mg or higher, because that’s actually what my retinal specialist has recommended. This oil didn’t disappoint.
I will say that there wasn’t a flavor to it, and I’m totally okay with that. I’ve had some wonderful flavors of CBD as well as some that taste like I’m eating dirt. The lack of flavor makes me feel more comfortable in the promise to be organic and without additives. You really should always read the ingredients of your CBD, because they are not all created equal. Medterra seems to be a great brand in terms of that!
The cooling cream, while not even having a enough to cover the back of my hand, was still pretty magical. I wish there was more to see its capabilities, but it certainly still served its purpose.
My husband is a welder and had a burned area on his arm, so he used the cream for that. He said it instantly felt better and kept the sting away all night. So, even though I was only able to do a tiny test, it passed.
Not So Much
I was excited to try both the Melatonin and the Morning capsules. I have insomnia and have been dealing with it since I was a little kid. CBD has genuinely helped my sleeping abilities, so seeing it combined with Melatonin was very cool. I will say I have no idea if it helped, but I don’t think so. I took it before bed, and I finally fell asleep about 3 hours later. I only woke up twice in the night, which is pretty good for me so there’s that at least.
The morning capsule contains caffeine, so as a busy mom that runs on little sleep, I was excited again. However, I didn’t feel any different. If anything, I was actually a bit groggy. I honestly believe if had enough servings for let’s say a week, I could have noticed a difference. I just didn’t feel any more awake on the specific day I tried it.
It could have been because my allergies are at an all time high or that I just didn’t sleep enough, but regardless of the whys, I won’t give a fake positive review for something that just didn’t work.
I love and support CBD, and I would definitely recommend the oil tincture and cooling cream out of all of the products I tried. However, I also think it’s very important to do your own research about brands and find a few to try. Trying more than one brand has helped me find ones that work better than others, because not all CBD is created equal. Also, all bodies are different, so find what works for yours.
