August Product Roundup: Beauty and Hair

Sharing is caring!

This month has been a whirlwind, and I’ve stumbled onto some products that I love. I also found a few that weren’t stellar, but I’m going to share them all with you anyway. None of the links in this post are affiliate links. I just want to share my opinions and experiences with you. You can also find a lot more of my product reviews on my Influenster page.

This month, I’ve tried a handful of new beauty and hair products. Some of them have become my new favorites as well. So, let’s get started.

Hair Products

Renpure Advanced Tea Tree and Lemon Sage Shampoo -I saw a few Renpure products on Pinterest, and it peaked my interest. They are plant based products, and there are zero sulfates, parabens, dyes, gluten, phthalates, or propylene glycol. I love when my hair products don’t have a lot of irritants, because my scalp is super sensitive.

I’m always on the hunt for products that make both my scalp and hair happy, and that’s not easy. There’s a lot that gives me hives, so finding something that soothes, moistures, and keeps my hair healthy all while smelling good isn’t an easy feat. I think I’ve accomplished it with this brand and collection though.

Renpure Advance Tea Tree and Lemon Sage Conditioner -I usually use tea shampoo but a different and more moisturizing conditioner but using them as pair has made my hair incredibly happy. This conditioner is way more moisturizing than other tea tree formulas that I’ve tried. I have dry hair, and this stuff still works wonders for me.

Renpure Biotin Collagen Conditioner I’ve seen curly girls rave about this stuff, and since my hair is a mix of straight, wavy, and curly, I decided to give it a go. I was a bit disappointed, because after using it my hair had more tangles and felt drier and heavy. However, we tried this for my daughter, and her hair loves it. We have similar hair except mine has a bit more curl, but it’s works great for her. It just goes to show you that every head of hair is different.

Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Refresher Spray -The label says that it’s for curls, coils, kinks, and waves. This stuff perks up my second day hair, helps with frizz, and makes my hair super soft. It also brings my waves and curls back to life. It does have a fairly strong smell. It’s a pleasant smell, and it fades after a while. It’s just strong.

Hi Pro Pac Extremely Damaged Hair Repair Intense Protein TreatmentI’ll admit that I’ve been blowing my hair straight and straightening a bit more. I also dyed it a few weeks ago, so it needed a treatment. Protein treatments can bring hair back to life, and this handy dandy little mask worked amazing. I will definitely rebuy and try some of the other varieties offered too.

Elf Brightening Lavender Face Primer -This is a tone correcting primer, and it just replaced my old go-to favorite primer. I love primer, and I often don’t even wear a bb cream or foundation over it. I love letting my natural freckles and marks shine, but I still like to have a primer to even my skin out and help hold concealer under my eyes. This stuff is like velvet, but it’s still light. It’s incredible.

Elf Illuminating Face PrimerI originally bought this before the lavender one, but wasn’t happy with this one as an all over primer. It’s very glittery and shimmery. I also have fair skin, and it didn’t blend well or match my tone. I have started using it where I’d normally apply highlighter, and it’s been fairly decent that way.

Stay Tuned for September

September will have a few more products. I recently received a few products to try this week, but I like to use them for at least a week or two so I get a good feel for the product. I also plan on adding a few new lip shades to my collection very soon.

Fall is coming, and fall beauty colors are my favorite. I also get dry skin, so that’s why I want to branch out and try new things. It’s going to be busy, but that’s all the more reason for self-care and a few new goodies.

Have a great day!

-With Love, Jenni

  1. I currently use the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer and it’s AMAZING. I love it so much. But the e.l.f. Brightening Lavender Face Primer you mentioned sounds wonderful, I’m going to have to check it out! xx
