Blogging is a job, and we have heard it all when it comes to that statement. People have been known to laugh it off when they ask what I do and I say I’m a work-at-home mom blogger and author. They don’t take it seriously, but if you’re a blogger, content creator, or writer in general, then you know this is a job.
Not only is this a job, it’s a job that doesn’t get acknowledged often. So, what better way to show your love for the blogger in your life than giving them gifts that support what they do. Don’t just gift the basics. If you’re going to be giving gifts, make it thoughtful and encouraging of other’s passions.
There are so many amazing ideas that could show the bloggers in your life some love and support this holiday season. Not only will I be sharing this to my social accounts, I will also forward it to anyone who asks me what I want.
Usually, I tell people not to buy me anything, because gifts make me feel super awkward. However, I have persistent family that make gifts a must, so I will send this directly to them. Blog related gifts honestly make me the happiest, because I pour my heart into Housewife Hustle, and for family to notice and make it a point to include that into a gift, means a lot.
I know I don’t speak for all bloggers, but I can imagine these types of gifts don’t just mean a lot to me. Gifts based on a passion can be very special and meaningful, so let’s get to it.
1. Buy and support our services.
I can’t stress this one enough. If a blogger/content creator in your life makes or sells a specific product or service, find a way to support that. I wrote a book this year, and my family has all been asking for copies- free copies. Just buy my book and support my passion. Eat the Damn Muffin is even on sale for the holidays, and it comes in paperback and e-book format.
Bloggers don’t all make six figure salaries like those annoying Facebook Ads claim. We can make a genuine income, but it’s far from an easy one. Bringing in any income means the world to us, so support that and make a real PURCHASE rather than expecting family/friend discounts or freebies.
Also, many of us are apart of affiliate programs. Ask for our links when you’re doing your Amazon shopping for instance. It doesn’t cost you extra, and it helps support us. There are so many affiliate programs that we can be apart of, and if you just ask, we will gladly tell you.
2. Custom gifts with logos are extremely supportive.
I don’t own a single piece of anything with my logo on it, but I would adore a tote bag, shirt, or mug with Housewife Hustle or something acknowledgment of my blog or book on it. I would love to have some custom Housewife Hustle or Eat the Damn Muffin merch. Those types of gifts can also show support, and they are very meaningful.
You also can shop at Etsy if they aren’t Amazon associates. Supporting other small businesses while creating custom gifts is always wonderful too.
3. Blogger merch goes a long way.
Just want to say that if a gift says something about being a blogger, I’m in love. It’s sweet and supportive.
Bloggers and writers tend to caffeinate- a lot. So, what better gift than adorable and cheeky mugs. There’s so many out there, so find the one that you think they will love and gift away.
This is hilarious and amazing, just saying.
Whatever type of content creator we are, editing is a major aspect, so this mug is delightful.
Head over to Esty and type in blogger gift, and there are so many great ideas from shirts to jewelry.
4. Equipment is essential.
Blogging requires equipment and tools. Phones, cameras, and computers may be too big for your budget, but there are smaller equipment ideas that bloggers would really appreciate as gifts.
Honestly, I don’t own a camera, because I can do pretty much everything I need for my blog and social media platforms from my iPhone. However, tripods can make a blogger swoon, whether for a camera or phone. Having something like this isn’t just helpful, it’s thoughtful, because it makes their job a bit easier.
Bloggers who take their own pictures understand the importance of lighting. This is a great gift for all types of bloggers who do their own photography.
5. Research and Planning Tools
Bloggers do a lot of research and planning to make their sites run smoothly. There are tons of research tools and planners out there that can really help us. There are books, guides, and planners for every type of blog imaginable, so give the gift of taking some of the load off the bloggers in your life.
6. Blogging Courses
I always see blogging and social media courses that interest me, but blogging isn’t cheap. Many bloggers have a limited budget on the courses they want to invest in. Ask around and give the gift of resources for the bloggers in your life.
The lovely Ell Duclos has a highly recommended Pinterest Course, and it would make a fabulous gift. She teaches bloggers how to master Pinterest to help grow their blogs. These types of resources make fabulous gift ideas, and if you aren’t sure which one to gift, ask. It’s the thought that counts.
7. Plugins, Themes, and Subscriptions
Blogging can be pricey, but adding extras can be very beneficial. Plugins aren’t all free, and premium options can help take blogs to the next level. Themes aren’t all free either, and the appearance of your site helps draw in more traffic. What may seem like the little add-ons can really help boost someone’s blog.
There are so many online gift ideas that bloggers would appreciate like subscriptions to services like Canva and Tailwind. Sure, asking the blogger what they need or want may seem a bit impersonal, but those are the types of gifts that can really be game changing.
Get to Gifting
Obviously, I shared gift ideas of the things that I know would interest me, but every blogger is different. Honestly, you’ll never know what they want unless you ask, and if they say nothing, you can gift them a gift card or prepaid card and sign it, “for all your blogging needs.”
It may seem tricky getting gifts for the bloggers in your life, but there are tons of options out there that would make us very happy. Whether it has a personal touch or is a course we’ve been dying to try, the gesture of wanting to support what we do means the most.
