I’m not a photographer by any means. However, I enjoy doing some of my own flat lays and photography edits for my blog and social media accounts. I also use stock photos. Finding free feminine stock photos used to be something I didn’t even attempt. I was afraid all of the images would be so overdone by other bloggers.
I think I underestimated the vast variety of stock images that are available, and for that, I am grateful. As a busy WAHM, there’s no way I could handle creating all of the my content from scratch. While I do take a lot of my own images, stock photos help me so much.
I used to get photo envy when I first started Housewife Hustle. If any of you can remember back that far, I used to use memes and just funny pictures from Google. Once I learned about the legal side to blogging as well as photo licensing, I learned that was a big no-no!
There are still powerhouse sites like Pixabay and Canva that offer a ton of free and beautiful stock and royalty free photos, but everyone and their cousin uses them. I wanted to use photos that were feminine, beautiful, and not all over Pinterest already. Sure, I still use and adore Canva, but they aren’t the only place to find free feminine stock photos for your blog.
The Importance of Graphics
I clearly didn’t understand the importance of graphics when I started blogging, but that has changed for the better. Even though I’m legally blind, having a well placed picture can tie your blog post together perfectly. Graphics really take your blog to the next level.
When we create graphics and images for our blogs and pins, we are also illustrating what sets us apart from other bloggers and content creators. The graphics we create allow our personality and brand to shine through, so don’t take the importance photos and graphics for granted.
Time and time again, I see pins and graphics being made with the same stock images on popular sites that everyone gravitates too. I’m guilty of it from time to time. Just because an image is super easy to find and is pretty, doesn’t mean it’s the right one for your blog. Finding unique stock images that aren’t already littering your Pinterest doesn’t have to be hard.

This is just a sliver of the free stock photos that are out there waiting to be appreciated. These are my favorites, along with Canva, when it comes to creating blog graphics and pins. I tend to use my own images for Instagram, because my page is dedicated to self-love and body acceptance as opposed to my multi-niche blog.
I love the aesthetic of femininity and simplicity. These places offer what I need as a stepping stone to creating eye catching graphics for my blog, so I hope that they help you too.
